Mine is in Japan right now being fixed so I could use it for this test. There is one wild card in the group the SDQ-H it has a crop of only 1.3 is very sharp like the Foveon, and has great color. The FP had great color/Nikon color but wasn't as sharp. The SDQ was in the middle between the SD1M and the FP The SDQ has great detail and excellent color but has a crop factor. I didn't have much time so they were hand held down and SD1M had the hardest time, but still had great detail.

Here are the ISO 6400 f8 shot a dust images that were ask for.

You'll be very glad you got your fp, and if you step up to higher ISO settings, which I imagine you will, after you see what that camera can produce at ISO 800, you'll be amazed.ĭid you see the snapshots at ISO 6400 from the the SD15 ISO Gang I'm absolutely certain that at ISO 800 the fp will give you a better image than your Quattro camera(s). I don't think it's a compromise at all, for the shooting you'll be doing, since you'll be shooting at ISO 800 and above, where the Foveon sensor produces dull colors, and the fp really shines. I've heard that fp's iso performance is really good. But how much of a compromise is it from those beautiful Foveon colours in terms of colour depth. I use my Fuji setup for my overall work and Quattro goes with me during the day sometimes.

Those images really are the best(when kept near the base iso) in the whole Apsc and full frame market in terms of colour reproduction.īut, I shoot a lot at night as well. I really like the output my Sigma sd Quattro produces. Have a look pick out the FP and the SD even at high ISO From what I understand Sigma tried hard to make the FP look like the SD's Hard to say, they are a little different.

I've heard that fp's iso performance is really good.īut how much of a compromise is it from those beautiful Foveon colours in terms of colour depth. I'm considering getting a Sigma fp kit for my photography and add a grip.

I take mine day or night it doesn't matter What is it with this Sigma can't do high ISO Where does that come from? They reproduce great color, right up there with Nikon Those images really are the best(when kept near the base iso) in the whole Apsc and full frame market in terms of colour reproduction.
